Sir Yuengling grew up in the cold of Western New York. His first introduction to festivals was during High School when some friends brought him to the Great Blue Heron Music Festival. Since then, he's made it back for the Heron every year possible, once even flying back from Hawaii where he was stationed with the Navy. In 2005 he moved to Korea to be the headmaster of an English institution and missed the craziness of festivals. He made a plan to build beer armor for the 2006 Heron. It was very well received and he's been carrying the sword and stein ever since!
Sir Yuengling's first set of armor was made out of Labatt Blue cases (see 'The Blue Knight'). When he moved from New York to the mid-Atlantic east coast, people had no idea what Labatt Blue was, so he changed to another beer he had found that quickly became his favorite...Yuengling. Now he goes to 4-5 festivals per year where he dons the armor.
